The Coroglen Tavern is located in the heart of the Coromandel, between Tairua and Whitianga. A hotel was originally built here back in 1879, which then became a tavern in 1946, serving locals and tourists, as it still does now, in true New Zealand country style. These days the Coroglen Tavern transforms during the summer months into an awesome venue hosting NZ's finest musicians. The large outdoor stage area holds up to 1800 people and is weatherproofed by a heavy-duty canopy. It is fair to say that the Coroglen Tavern is well known for it's unforgettable gigs!

Nikau Rhythm plans it's gigs for long weekends or in the holiday's so you can not only have an original NZ music experience, but also enjoy a long weekend / holiday away in the Coromandel at some of Aotearoa's finest beaches.

Local Transport
Nikau Rhythm is highly against Drink Driving. Please appoint a sober driver or use local transport, here is the best option.

Food & Beverage Purchase
Coroglen Cards.
Only Coroglen Cards can be used to purchase drink, food, tobacco, etc.
Coroglen Cards can be purchased in advance from the Tavern Bar, or from the Coroglen Cards sales point in the Beer Garden during the Band Night.
Coroglen Cards can be purchased with cash, EFTPOS, Visa, and MasterCard. No cheques accepted.
There is a small charge of $3 to purchase the card, and a $2 Bond which is returned if your card is in good condition. And then you load it with any amount that you require. You can also top it up if you run out.
The Coroglen Cards can be used on any of the Coroglen Band Nights, and also at the Tavern during normal business.
You can get a refund on the remaining value of your card at the end of the night, or anytime after the Band Night. Or you keep the card to use the next time you are here.
You will not be able to use other AWOP Cards at our venue only the Coroglen Cards issued here. Rhythm and Vines cards, etc, will not work here.
You purchase a Coroglen Card for $5. That includes a Bond of $2. When you return your Coroglen Card for refund, you will receive your Bond back, unless your Card has been damaged such that we are unable to reuse it. If your card has been totally damaged, such that it can no longer be read, we will be unable to refund you the balance. (This would be very unusual !! ). That excepted, you will always receive the full balance on your card when you refund it. If your card has been blocked by the system due to improper use, your refund will be delayed. (Again, that would be very unusual !!). Treat your Card with care, and think of it as a pile of cash - you loose your cash, and its gone, the same with your card - loose it and you have lost your money.
TIP: make a note of the serial number on your card. That might help you to get it back if it is lost and then found.

It is the Coroglen Tavern's Policy not to allow pass-outs. Once you enter the venue, you cannot come and go. If you have an emergency situation please see one of the Coroglen Security Staff.
